A section or page won’t load

Ordinary shows a few different messages when something can’t load. Each one tells you how much of the page is affected.

”This section couldn’t load”

One card on the page ran into an error while showing its data. Only that card is affected — the card’s title stays visible, and every other card on the page keeps working normally.

Click Try again inside the card to reload it. Your filters and date range stay as they are.

”Something went wrong”

The whole page ran into an error. The top bar and sidebar stay in place, so you can keep using the rest of Ordinary.

  • Click Try again to reload the page content.
  • Click Back to dashboard to leave the page.

”You’re offline”

A slim yellow bar under the top bar means your browser has lost its connection, or can’t reach Ordinary right now (for example on hotel or airport Wi-Fi that needs a sign-in page first).

You don’t need to do anything. Pages and data you were opening wait instead of failing, and load on their own as soon as the connection is back. The bar disappears when you’re reconnected.

If an error keeps coming back

  1. Refresh the browser tab.
  2. If the same card or page fails again, contact support. Include the reference code shown under the error and the page you were on — it lets us find the exact error on our side.

We’re notified automatically about these errors, so we’re often already looking at it by the time you write in.
