# My test's theme changes are missing

> What to do when Ordinary says a running test's theme file is gone or its changes are no longer in your live theme.

---

Ordinary checks the live theme for changes it added to running tests. If it can no longer find them, you may see a warning on the test and in Brand Pulse. An email follows only if a second check, about an hour later, still finds the problem. This avoids emailing you about a brief theme update that resolves itself.

## “This test's theme file is gone”

The file containing this test's changes is no longer in the live theme. This usually means a different theme was published or the previous theme was replaced. If you meant to keep running the test, publish the theme it was set up on, then open the test in Ordinary and select **Re-verify**. If the new theme is intentional, end the test; its results so far remain available.

## “This test's changes are no longer in your theme”

The file is still present, but Ordinary cannot find the changes it added when the test started. A theme update or an edit to that section could explain it. Check the affected test's **Theme changes** tab and restore the test's changes in the live theme. Then select **Re-verify** on the warning. If you no longer want the test, end it instead.

## What happens to the results?

While the changes are missing, visitors see the original content rather than the intended variants. The test may still assign visitors to groups, so results collected during this period are not a clean comparison. Re-verify after restoring the changes; the warning clears when Ordinary can confirm the test is live again.
